August's Topic: How She Creates Routines
Just like that, it's over—the lazy mornings, the unstructured summer days. Soon we'll be back to school; back to the routine.
Transition times—mornings, after school, and bedtime—can be so hard, especially when you're shifting out of summer mode. But they can also be important opportunities to connect with our kids. We could all use a few ideas to make these routines more efficient, less turbulent, and more meaningful.
You may not think your routines are anything special, because, well, they're so routine for you. But every family has unique ideas to share. This month, I'm trying to collect morning, after-school, and bedtime rituals from as many of you as possible so we can use the ideas to freshen up our tired old routines. I'd love to know what you do!
